The history of the American healthcare system is complicated. With a past marked by classism, racism, sexism, and nearly any “-ism” you can think of, the American healthcare system is fundamentally broken. The United States healthcare system not only supports the health of its citizens but also reflects the broader state of our country. I am committed to dedicating my career not only to healthcare administration but also to transforming the politics behind healthcare. To me, healthcare goes beyond caring for the sick and injured; it is about ensuring that everyone has equitable access to care.
